چکیده

Abstract Background The lactic acid bacteria (LAB), from diverse sources, are of great importance as probiotics, and several authors around the globe have reported LAB, isolated various fermented foods, potential antimicrobial agents. current study explored antibacterial activity probiotic property idli batter isolates for first time Malda (West Bengal, India). Results LAB procured fresh samples had against pathogenic well food-borne with zone diameter inhibition 16, 18 23 mm concentrations 25, 50 75 μl/well, respectively, determined by agar-well diffusion method. identification was executed through biochemical tests, 16S rRNA gene sequencing phylogenetic analysis. batter: LMEM1001 LMEM1002, showed maximum (96.81% 95.20%, respectively) similarities Lactiplantibacillus pentosus plantarum, whereas isolates, LMEM1006 LMEM1008, (96.11% 98.40%, plantarum Limosilactobacillus fermentum, respectively. Safety profiling using antibiogram, DNase gelatinase tests. Conclusions batter-derived lactobacilli been demonstrated good which displayed excellent clinical bacteria. Overall, might be useful probiotics human consumption biotherapeutics in combating bacterial antibiotic resistance.

A Study on the Antibacterial Activity of Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolated from Traditional Iranian Milk Samples

198 Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were isolated from Iranian milk samples. Almost all isolatedLAB showed inhibitory activity towards E. coli and S. aureus as Gram negative and Grampositive indicators, respectively. No role was observed for hydrogen peroxide in the activity ofall isolated strains while organic acids proved a prominent role in all detected inhibitoryactivities. Within isolated LAB, ...

Antibacterial activity, antibiotic susceptibility and probiotic use of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus)

Growth behavior of five lactic acid bacteria previously isolated from Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus), were evaluated at different pH, temperature and salt concentrations. Also, antibacterial activity of extracellular products (ECPs) of this LAB were assessed to Aeromonas hydrophila . Further, their antibiotic susceptibility was determined with some commonly used antibiotics in aquacultur...

Lactic Acid Bacteria: Probiotic Applications

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) is a heterotrophic Gram-positive bacteria which under goes lactic acid fermentations and leads to production of lactic acid as an end product. LAB includes Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus, Lactococcus and Streptococcus which are grouped together in the family lactobacillaceae. LAB shows numerous antimicrobial activities due to production of antibacterial and a...

Probiotic spectra of lactic acid bacteria (LAB).

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and their probio-active cellular substances exert many beneficial effects in the gastrointestinal tract. LAB prevent adherence, establishment, and replication of several enteric mucosal pathogens through several antimicrobial mechanisms. LAB also release various enzymes into the intestinal lumen and exert potential synergistic effects on digestion and alleviate sympto...
